Shading Resolution in V20
WorkNC V20, besides new and also improved cutterpath functions also includes new functionality in WorkNC-CAD. The next several tips will looks at some of the new features found in WorkNC-CAD.
It is possible to change the shading resolution locally on a part. For example, if there is one portion of a large part you wish to see with the smoothest shading, and the remainder can be coarser.

Figure 1 – Shading with a Very Rough level
Refer to Figure 1. Here we show the location of the command, plus the settings you can use. Simply select the quality level, and select the faces to apply it to. WorkNC-CAD will automatically recalculate the triangulation for the new graphic setting. Here the face triangulation is set to a rougher setting.

Figure 2 – Shading with a Ultra Fine level
Figure 2 shows the same faces with an Ultra Fine shading. The advantage of setting it locally is that the part could be shaded smooth, while the mold base and other non-part faces can be shaded rough, and the system performance will not be compromised.
